Jazz in CheshireYour comprehensive guide to jazz in Cheshire The Cheshire Plain is known for its rolling countryside, picturesque villages, historic gardens, and the ancient walled city of Chester, with its timber-framed buildings and an idyllic setting on the River Dee. Jazz in the county has a relaxed feel, with a thriving traditional jazz scene across the area, in pubs like the Wilbraham Arms in Alsager and the Dog and Partridge in Macclesfield. Larger venues - The Pyramid in Warrington, The Brindley in Runcorn, and Alexander's in Chester - add a national and regional flavour, bringing other styles to the area. The Nantwich Jazz and Blues Festival is a lively celebration of swing and blues, focussed around the town each April. Click the toolbar on the left for more about jazz in Cheshire.
